I applied online. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Nordstrom in Dec 2013
Interview
Applied online for Cosmetics Sales Associate position. Got a call back the next day for an interview. Met with the cosmetics department manager and it was the most difficult interview ever. I've had interviews at Nordstrom before and was a rehire so I thought I had an idea of what they would ask but I felt as if I was interviewing for a job way more difficult than retail sales. It was over an hour and she asked about 20-30 questions.

Question 1
Pick at product to sell to me. Why did you pick this product? Tell me 3 things about this product. What would you say to a customer who had reservations about this product.
It began with the standard questions about how your personality and previous experience matches up with the job. Then a tour around the department to see work required for the job, and possibly a test to see how you know the product your selling. Creating an outfit or picking a product for certain customers needs.
I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Nordstrom (Kansas City, MO) in Aug 2018
Interview
I applied online. Got an email for a phone interview about a week later. Then a live interview 2 days later. Offer came 2 days after that by phone call
I applied online (for kids apparel and shoes). I got an e-mail the next day saying to make an appointment online for a phone interview. Once I set it, I got a call on the day I set it, and it lasted about 10-15 minutes. Fairly easy. Then, the woman on the phone set me up for an in-person interview. I went and was interviewed by the manager. She asked lots of interview questions, and then brought me to the floor of where I would be working to show me around. There, she asked me questions as if she was a customer and I picked out an outfit for her. The interview ended after that and I got a call back about a week later saying that I got the job.
