      Marketing Vice President Interview

      Sep 15, 2015
      Anonymous employee
      New York, NY
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Nielsen (New York, NY) in Mar 2011

      Interview

I had 11 interviews, all with interesting, intelligent people who later became friends and colleagues. They asked a lot of questions about my past experience, especially situations in which things didn't go as planned. Despite the many questions, I felt the interviews were mostly chemistry checks to see if I would fit it. Still, 11 interviews is a LOT. Also: They put me up in a really dingy little hotel. Kind of depressing. If I hadn't LOVED the executives I met during the interview process, I probably would have been quite turned off.

      Question 1

Why Nielsen? I am amazed that people don't prepare for such an obvious question.
