I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Navan (Tel Aviv-Yafo) in Jul 2021
Interview
I had 3 rounds. The first round was a conversation with a manager from the states. He was very polite and asked me many questions about my work methodologies, failures I'd had (It was an hour long). Later on I had a coding interview with an engineer from the states. He was also very communicative and polite. The 3rd stage was at the Israeli site in Tel Aviv and I had a very bad experience. I was told by the HR that the interview will take place 45 minutes * 2 managers separately. When I came to the site, 3 people were interviewing me at the same time (one of them was observing me- they said he was studying how to interview people). I felt like a monkey in the zoo. They weren't listening to me when I spoke, used cell phones all the time, worked during the meeting. They gave me an LRU cache questions to solve on hacker rank and I couldn't concentrate during the interview at all. One of the interviewers told me to run the code and there was an issue with the compilation, I asked him to google it and he didn't respond, he was trying to make it run himself and couldn't compile it. The HR called me the next day and told me "It wasn't strong enough". I read that they'd fired hundreds of workers in a zoom call (So what could I expect?) . They also have many bad reviews, probably for a good reason.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
-Implement a LRU cache in java hacker rank.
-You have tuples of a certain size (I was given the size 2), find all sums possibilities between them.
-What happens when you do MAX_INTEGER + MAX_INTEGER?
-Tell me about a failure you had.
-How do you monitor the cloud?
I interviewed at Navan (San Francisco, CA) in Dec 2025
Interview
AI first round interview, had timer set for 20 minutes, and cut off strictly at the time, so I was cut-off midway through my answer. Wish they would have the usual 1st round screen with a recruiter instead of using AI.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Can you talk about your experience collaborating with product managers and designers?
Great Process - Quality Questions, Quality Interviewers, Good conversations, time bound. Diverse panel of interviewers. Good Mix of technical and cultural questions. Detailed feedback for each round.
I wasn't offered a contract, but it was a positive experience.
It was pretty short (because I only made it to the end of the first round), and the interviewer was really nice and concise. The technical questions were on the easy side, and the behavioral questions were just a conversation.
