I applied online. The process took 6 days. I interviewed at National Great Rivers Research and Education Center in Nov 2019
Interview
Very negative and humiliating experience overall. The job posting had been active for over 6 weeks when I applied. I was contacted the day after for an interview the following day, so a very short process which I was initially excited about. The job posting described an entry-level candidate based on the salary and qualifications, but it was clear when I began the interview, which was with 3 people, that they were looking for a mid-level professional. Almost every question was some form of "Describe your experience with x". I don't have experience with "x", that's why I want this job. If I did have experience with "x", it would have been listed on my resume. I wanted to walk out in the middle of the interview because I was so humiliated by having to answer these questions which were clearly not meant for an entry-level candidate.
Either the interview questions need to be completely redone or the job posting does to accurately reflect who they were looking for. I'm not sure why I even got an interview in the first place, but I can make an educated guess as to why the position has still not been filled.
