      Director Interview

      Oct 12, 2022
      Anonymous interview candidate
      San Francisco, CA
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at MuleSoft (San Francisco, CA) in Jul 2022

      Interview

Applied to a Director level role to find out the position was for a Senior Manager level (which was later revised). Interview process was long, approximately 3 months with a panel interview / role play as the final step. I thought the initial interviews were to "canned" for a Director level role. Behavioral based interviews for roles that require 10+ years of relevant experience seem ineffective to me. Overall the process wasn't horrible. However, the day they are going to give me an offer, there is a "hiring pause", then a freeze, then nothing. Disappointed in this process for someone that has devoted their career to this company and its platforms.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Behavioral based that were way too basic for the level of role. Panel presentation was very relevant, actually a fun experience.,

      Director Interview

      Feb 27, 2019
      Anonymous employee
      San Francisco, CA
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at MuleSoft (San Francisco, CA)

      Interview

Was referred by an existing employee. Started off with a call with a Recruiter, then a Phone screen, and then with coffee with the hiring manager (felt like a good personal touch). Then went through 2 rounds of onsite interviews with a total of 9 different interviewers. Interview logistics and scheduling were handled well, although there was a weird 30 minute gap in the interview day where I just hung out alone in the tiny conference room. The interview process seemed to be pretty well balanced, and a hiring decision was reached in a timely manner. A little bit of negotiation on the offer; comp was good but not great.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

"Tell me about your most significant accomplishment." 7 of the 9 interviewers asked this question, so they really appear to like it.
