I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Meridian Remote Teams
Interview
I'm extremely frustrated with the company! I didn't even apply for the job. A recruiter from Meridian Remote Teams contacted me on LinkedIn and asked for my resume. They knew I didn't have a medical background but insisted and even assured me that I didn't need one for the role. Perhaps they're desperate to find someone to present to the client, maybe because they're so few medical copywriters in the country, and someone willing to work for the meager pay.
What they're offering for the medical expertise needed for the role is absurd. I was able to negotiate a salary of 35,000 due to my copywriting experience, but the original salary they offered is too low for the 3+ years of experience the client is looking for.
I passed the first two rounds of interviews with Meridian. At my second interview, I pointed out I don't have a medical background but have 4 years of copywriting experience. The hiring manager assured me I didn't need one.
I was presented to the client on the third interview. I immediately knew she wasn't impressed and was slightly dismissive to me. For obvious reasons, I didn't get the role. I received a rejection email the next day citing that the client wanted someone with a medical background.
The process took three weeks from start to finish. Another thing that bothers me is that upon talking to the client, I learned their goal is to inform their customers. Meridian should be hiring a medical content writer, not a copywriter. Content writers write to inform, copywriters write to sell.
Ultimately, Meridian Remote Teams wasted everyone's time- mine and the client's.
