McKinsey’s Solve assessment is honestly a smart innovation. It feels like a more modern way to test baseline problem-solving, pattern recognition, and decision-making than the usual “gotcha” tests.
What I appreciated most is that it seems designed to check the minimum requirements in a practical way, not just reward memorization or people who have seen the same question format before. The experience was also well-structured and engaging.
Overall, I think it’s a strong step in the right direction for early-stage screening.

Positive experience until the super day. The scheduling was quite long and they gave me a month's gap between my previous round and my final round. But overall everyone speaks eloquently and thinks logically. My interactions with senior partners are also very positive; they ask insightful, probing questions and were encouraging throughout the interview. I thought I smashed it, but one of the partners called me the other day and rejected me.
First you get an HR Round, then 2 back to back interviews then 3 interviews. The overall process took around 2-3 weeks, it was not very difficult very fast turnaround
