I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at McKinsey & Company (Denver, CO) in Sep 2024
Interview
I submitted my resume and got invited to complete SOLVE, a game that evaluates your critical thinking skills. I read about what to expect beforehand, but there's no real way to prepare. Several weeks later, I was invited to a virtual first round interview. The interview is 2 hour-long sessions with 2 Firm members. Each session includes a behavioral segment (~15 minutes) and a case study (~45 minutes). The behavioral questions (called PEI) are given to you beforehand, and the interviewers will ask you questions to drill deeper into your thought processes and emotions throughout the scenario. The second round interview was two weeks later. Second round had the same structure, but 3 sessions instead of 2.

Question 1
Share an example when you worked effectively with people from different backgrounds, despite challenges.
Passed the online test and then had a round 1 interview. I got a rejection call shortly after. Interviews were a mix of behavioral and technical. Difficulty depends on difficulty of case.
First you get an HR Round, then 2 back to back interviews then 3 interviews. The overall process took around 2-3 weeks, it was not very difficult very fast turnaround

Interview
Positive experience until the super day. The scheduling was quite long and they gave me a month's gap between my previous round and my final round. But overall everyone speaks eloquently and thinks logically. My interactions with senior partners are also very positive; they ask insightful, probing questions and were encouraging throughout the interview. I thought I smashed it, but one of the partners called me the other day and rejected me.
