I applied in the store and only took about 30 minutes, the app is very easy, with questions about what would you do if you saw someone steal, and those questions about if you agree, strongly disagree, etc. The next day, I received an email with a link to go to the macys website and pick a day to schedule an interview date. My interview was at 10am and i got there 10 min early and sat down along with others waitng to be interviewed. Make sure you dress nice, a collar shirt with a tie, dress pants with dress shoes and try to wear ALL BLACK or dark colors (Eg dark grays, maybe a red tie). The HR people seem really unorganized and unprepared. I waited for about 20 minutes then i was called into a really small office. The guy introduced himself, as did I, we shook hands and sat down. Immediately after sitting down, he got up and said "Excuse me" and left for about 1 minute. After he came back he said "sorry its been a long day, we have more interviews than expected" it was 10:30 am... Macys opens at 10am. The guy was very egotistical and ask me "Why macys?", in the middle of my answer he started to yawn and said "oh sorry its not meant towards you" another question he ask was "What does customer service mean to you as a customer?" He ask about 4 questions and it took under 8 minutes. Overall i think my answers were good. He also pointed out that i did really good on my questionnaire and that right now there was no position available for me... aka fold clothing in that messy store LOL. He said he would hold my file and if a position were to become available he would give me a call. Its been almost 2 weeks so obviously i did not get hired,i think they hire you on the spot. Overall, it seems they didnt feel like doing the interviews and were forced too.
