Given some previous feedback I saw on this Glassdoor page, I wanted to share my recent interview experience to alleviate any hesitation for future applicants.
I had a really nice experience through every step of the process. The CPO was my first contact and she was great – very kind, very informative, and transparent. I always received prompt communication and next steps. Meeting with the founders was also a great experience. Rosie is really personable and I can sense her priority is skillset, but also just picking up a good vibe, so it's not a long, drawn out interview. (As a fellow Virgo, it really only takes us 5 minutes to gauge that lol) Then there's Mitch, who's prior review on this website had me a little worried – but truly, his was one of the most fun, thoughtful interviews I've had in a long, long time. Yes, he goes deep, but it was such an engaging, explorative back and forth and I really loved it. I can understand how it can be intimidating, but at the heart of it you can tell these founders really prioritize finding a good fit culturally above all and that's important from both sides.
My biggest piece of advice in this scenario is to really let your guard down and go into this company as yourself and don't be afraid to be genuine because they really value that. It's intense but it's also refreshing to not get the same, standard interview questions of "Tell me about a time, etc. etc." and to get ones that really make you think and reflect.
I do genuinely think that Mattio is a great place to work and really has some solid people who care about the company and the culture and that's half the battle in choosing any new company.
I ultimately declined due to wanting to move away from the agency world after having been in it for a long time and some reflection, but a piece of me will always wonder what if! I did get the impression it would be a really healthy, positive place to work – with the occasional agency nuances, which isn't a bad thing, just comes with the territory!
