      Junior Automation Test Engineer Interview

      Sep 19, 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Bucharest, Bucuresti
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Luxoft (Bucharest, Bucuresti) in Aug 2020

      Interview

The interview started normally with a HR interview. They asked me regular stuff about myself, my expectations and what I like to do. After the HR interview, they called me in a week or so about the technical interview. The technical interview was the best part of the interview process. The people at the technical interview were 2 really nice and respectful gentleman. They asked my a lot of questions, but they were pretty easy and they looked really satisfied of my performance. After the interview I asked them a couple of questions about the job and we talked a little about it and about the company. They answered all my questions and took the time to give me a thorough answer. The interview was relaxed as they asked me questions, I answered them, and I also asked them questions about the and they answered them. I passed the interview easily and they told me at the end of the interview that I should expect a call for an interview with the team-leader. The day of the interview with the team-leader came and they started asking me technical questions even though I passed the technical interview and after I answered they kept asking me over and over again why am I using this and that technology. They kept interrupting me when trying to answer. After this, they gave me some sort of IQ problem I guess and while I was thinking about solving it they kept bothering me "what are you thinking about?", "talk about what are you thinking", "now what?". They were interrupting my thought process again and again but anyway I finished the task they gave me for my problem. After this, they made the problem harder and asked me another question. I solved this too, and they finally asked me to explain them how I would get the best possible result for that problem. I gave it to them and I guess that was enough for them. The interview was over and they told me they would contact me if I'm a good fit. They never called me, but the HR lady called me telling me that they didn't want to give me an offer, but she said I had a good technical review so I had a shot for another interview with a manager on another position. I accepted and she programmed it like 3 weeks later. I started preparing for the interview 2 weeks later and the day before the lady from HR called me telling me they are cancelling the interview because someone in the company took the position. Conclusion: it looks like Luxoft mostly has some good employees but because they put a lot of jobs on platforms like LinkedIn and they have a lot of interviews going on makes some of their employees bored or straight up rude. Hopefully, this was just an isolated case and they aren't generally like that.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

HR: Tell me about yourself. What is your experience. Technical: How you list in Linux? How you change permissions of a file in Linux? What are OOP principles? What is the difference between overriding and overloading? Team-leader: If I remeber correctly, some problem with 2 or 3 buckets of different volume. I had to put the water in a bucket in the least moves. Then, they asked to tell all the possibilities in how you can solve the problem or something like that.
