      Software Engineer Interview

      Sep 11, 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Chicago, IL
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at LevelBlue (Chicago, IL) in Oct 2020

      Interview

Initial behavioral phone screening, recruiter was easy going and upbeat. Standard behavioral questions. After initial screening, phone interview with senior engineer. Behavioral questions, some small talk, and then we moved on to a Java Q&A. Range of standard Java, OOD, and software design questions. Interviewer questions were pretty straight forward, but they would get confusing at points and struggled to expand on questions. Ultimately I spent too long on a relatively simple question or two. Was told I would receive a follow up coding exercise, but was ghosted. Eventually asked recruiter and she confirmed they would be moving forward with other candidates. Should've done more interview prep, oh well.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

What is Set in Java? How would you write a class with similar functionality to another without rewriting code? Name and describe dome design patterns Explain Object Oriented Design Name some different types of Java Collections. What is serialization?
