I applied through other source. I interviewed at Lama AI (Tel Aviv-Yafo) in Feb 2026
Interview
The CTO reached out personally via LinkedIn for an initial 45-minute Zoom call, which created a great first impression of being sought after. This was followed by an HR screen and a 2.5-hour technical interview where I was asked to build a loan-matching API on my own laptop, with code assistants allowed. Mid-way through the session, the requirements shifted to include DB schema design and more complex logic. A notable part of the experience was being handed a laminated paper with the instructions and then being left alone in the room for the majority of the 2.5 hours. This felt very transactional and disconnected, especially since the brief moments of engagement with the interviewer felt dismissive. Despite the high-level "hype" and personal outreach at the beginning, I received a standard rejection the very next day. While the process is fast and allows for a comfortable dev environment, there is a significant disconnect between the initial executive interest and the actual, somewhat impersonal, interview experience.

Tell about previous projects, experience, challenges and how I solved them
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Lama AI (Tel Aviv) in Oct 2025
Interview
1. design a backend server - no db
the assignment is very easy but not all information is present. after you finish your assignment, new information comes up and you have to rewrite everything again and again. they did this to me 5 times.
2. design an architecture.
again, very easy. but, they don't let you design anything. once you try to design one part, they are already asking about the next part.. non stop questions, no time to think and especially no time to draw anything.
3. ceo+cto interview.
should be straight forward. cto = tech interview. i talked about a system that me and my team develped. all the cto was interested in was why not delete it and use some online tool. wasn't interested at all in what we did or how.
ceo interview should also be straight forward, or so you'd think.. all questions were management questions while im interviewing for a dev position..
at the end the declined me at the final stage because "i am too ambitious and aim to achieve a management position in future.

Interview
Two on-site technical interviews, one was a coding exercise and the other was system design and flow building. Kind of ok process but not so good at returning feedback when asked.
