      Inflight Crewmember Interview

      Feb 29, 2024
      Anonymous interview candidate
      New York, NY
      Declined offer
      Neutral experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at JetBlue (New York, NY) in Apr 2022

      Interview

Very easy in-person interview in NYC. They seemed to hire most everyone who knew how to breathe. They definitely lived up to being laid-back like the airline, hiring people in converse, people in leggings as pants, people in other outfits that would get you instantly rejected at other airlines. I had a group Q&A about the company which was more like a big group conversation, people who didn't talk at all or interrupted very loud all got hired, so it didn't seem they put much weight to that. Then we waited in the hall as they pulled resumes to call names for the 1-on-1s. That was easy, they asked like 10 questions and it went really fast. It was in a conference room with multiple tables, so you had to interview in the same room as all the others, so be prepared to tune out the rest of the room and focus on your interviewer. After that, they said I was "moving on to the next step in the process" or something like that. They said it often. They never actually said I got a job offer, which was very strange. But then you go to a room to fill out papers on your phone and they say you'll get an email for the background check and then sent us to the bathrooms to do the drug testing. The actual CJO letter arrived in email with the background check. It was very strange that they never actually said congratulations or specifically that we got the job offer. The handful of people who didn't get the job offer, they were sent home after the 1-on-1. They were hiring a LOT and seemed very desperate to take anyone, the attrition rate is high and I actually attended training but at day 2 of orientation I learned some things that conflicted with other things, especially regarding company culture that I just couldn't morally stay there and be part of such culture without sacrificing my own morals.

      Interview

I applied online and a few months later I received an email telling me to do a personality assessment as well as some brain games. Then a few weeks later I received an email to do a virtual interview where I recorded my answers to the questions and submit them. About two weeks after that I was invited to an in person interview at their headquarters in Long Island City, New York. You have to pay for your own travel. The face to face consisted of testing out a jumpseat harness, a reach test, and mingling with other applicants. Flight attendants spoke to us about JetBlue and their job while we waited for our turn to interview. It has been a while so I don't remember the interview questions, but I do remember having to read a short PA script out loud. Other people were interviewing in the same room. I was walked out and I knew I had gotten the job by the verbiage the interviewer had used with me afterwards. Within the week, I had gotten a call with my CJO to start training in a month. Drug test and background check required. Training is 5 weeks long. No roommates. Paid travel to and from training in Orlando, Florida. Meals are from the cafeteria at JetBlue University and you get about one day off a week.

      Interview

After applying, I received a link for a video interview about 1 month later. V.I consisted of 2 attempts to answer about 3 questions. It took about a few weeks for them to give me a f2f video interview. They were simple questions about myself, and my customer service experience. You’re then given an invite to a “Blue Review” day at headquarters, and you wait to hear back on when training begins.
