I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at JR Capital (London, England) in Sep 2024
Interview
I recently went through a five-stage interview process with JR Capital who are currently in process of expanding. During the 2nd round interview I expected the focus to be on my qualifications and experience relevant to the role (property management), the CEO instead directed questions towards personal topics, such as my ethnic background, religious beliefs, family relationships, and even my family’s history in the UK—none of which were pertinent to the job. This approach felt inappropriate and unprofessional, as it strayed far from assessing my skills or suitability for the role.
The company seems to face significant structural challenges as it looks to grow, including a lack of software, organisational framework, and qualified leadership in property management (the head of property management, for example, isn’t ARLA certified). These gaps, coupled with an unstructured and seemingly arbitrary interview process, raised questions about the company’s preparedness for expansion and its professional standards. For prospective candidates, I’d suggest asking specific questions about role expectations and company structure to ensure the opportunity aligns with your professional values.
