I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at JKS Restaurants
Interview
Applied through CV library, phone screening for 10-15 minutes detailing role and background screening, then scheduled interview for the week after. In person interview consisted of an initial trial shift of 1-2 hours where I had to shadow the waiters and then serve food/water, they explained the floor layout and how they run service. Staff were very encouraging and friendly. Then a 20 minute informal talk with the manager detailing your background/experience and personality based questions. Make sure to show enthusiasm and a willingness to learn and ability to be hands on.

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at JKS Restaurants (London, England) in Aug 2024
Interview
Unfortunately, I had a poor candidate experience due to a significant lack of communication throughout the process. Despite my continuous follow-ups over several weeks, I never received any feedback. This was particularly disappointing, as I had expected a more responsive and empathetic approach from a People Manager, a role that inherently values the candidate's experience and empathy. Big red flag
Additionally, I felt that the interaction with the hiring manager was overshadowed by an apparent ego, which further detracted from the overall experience. This is another big Red Flag. Given JKS's reputation, I was expecting a more professional and respectful approach.
