I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Hi Auto (Kyiv, Kyiv) in Apr 2026
Interview
Apart from prescreening, it was 3hr-long live coding exercises with screen recording. I successfully finished the task and sent a .zip to their email. In 2 WEEKS, I got some generic AI-generated feedback with some lame remarks like "you did not comment your code enough" or "you did a typo in a variable name", or my favorite: "The coding pace was below the expected standard for a Staff Engineer." Have you heard of a coding pace standard?😁

Question 1
What is your favorite data structure or algorithm?
The interview process was a disaster. I went through three stages: two interviews, a home test, and a tour. After being told I passed, they said there would be a delay and they would get back to me later. Months went by with no updates unless I reached out. Despite multiple follow-ups, I only got excuses and delays. They promised to call the next day or claimed they were about to contact me, but those promises never materialized, and sometimes my messages were simply ignored. The job is still posted online, and I still haven’t received any solid response. This experience speaks volumes about the company’s culture and how they value candidates’ time. Overall, I do not recommend.
