Interview
It's a very systematic interview testing your verbal ability, writing ability and some easy maths.
It doesn't require any special knowledge about the industry and current economics issue. It only asks some questions similar to SJT.

Interview
I applied through an e-mail along with a cover letter which was not mandatory/required.
We settled a meeting a week after, at their headquarters.
The interview was with the HR manager, and it was behavioral and not knowledge.

Why HSBC and how do you think this firm can help you achive your future plans?!
This was my first telephone interview with HSBC, it materialized after having passed the numerical reasoning and the logic test. They came back to me rather quickly after having done the online tests which is a massive bonus, some companies don't get back to you for a good 2 months.

It is a very easy and straightforward interview, they ask you about your motivations, what difficulties you are expecting, and what you can bring to the table
