Mar 31, 2023 - Premier Relationship Manager in Toronto, ONRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
-Slightly higher salary on average than the big 5 banks for similar position -Decent bonus if you hit your goal -Matching investments from bank for about $ 3k a year(con:No company shares, just a choice of same mutual funds)
Cons
-Very High Sales Goals/Quotas especially for investments -Most mutual funds have highest MERs compared to big 5 while having the worst performance making it a difficult sell -Expect to work free overtime everyday. It is not illegal, it's just part of the HSBC culture(anywhere between 1-2hours a day) -Terrible software and complicated KYC procedures -Sales transactions take 2-3x longer than other banks due to lengthy KYC procedures and unreliable software -Mutual fund sales takes an eternity to do and the tools provided are extremely basic. -I can't emphases enough of how low quality, bare bone garbage is their dumpster bank software (this 1 point by itself pretty much made the working experience a living hell)
