      Interview

First, I have to say that I got a kick out of reading some of the interview posts for Glassdoor while prepping. I've seen companies post suspect reviews but this might be the first time that even the interview posts were laughable. My overall experience with Glassdoor was neutral to bad. I applied online and was contacted by a recruiter who went through a standard screening. It seemed like they were reading off a script and they couldn't give clear answers to any of my questions. Even when I asked what to prepare for in the next round all they said was be ready for anything. I also thought it was silly that when discussing comp they talked about how Glassdoor is committed to transparency and competitive offerings yet the job posting had no listed range or tier, the salary document I found online had pay scales for a given role varying by over 100k, and when the recruiter finally told me the number for my area it was on the low end of the market with only average benefits. Round two was with the hiring manager. They seemed nice but also erratic. It was like they were trying to squeeze three different types of interviews into one. Oddly they kept focusing more on random tools that I had used in my role instead of my technical or leadership experience. They also gave me a use case that wasn't a use case at all but rather a vague, two sentence problem that they then wanted me to give a wide range of proposals towards. The manager wrapped the call by telling me that they had no concerns about my ability to do the job and to expect next steps within the week. A week later I got a generic rejection. Two months later the same job is being relisted. At least this time they actually put the salary range.

      Question 1

They said they wanted me to work on a use case but actually gave me a two sentence, vague description of a problem then asked me to cover every possible way I would test it and capture metrics and share results.

Hi there – thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We're sorry to hear it didn't meet your expectations. We do want to clarify that Glassdoor includes salary ranges in all of our job postings and has done so for years, so it sounds like there may have been an error in this instance. Your feedback about the interview structure and communication is helpful and will be shared with our team to ensure we deliver a consistent candidate experience. We appreciate your interest in Glassdoor and wish you the best moving forward. - Cortney Holt, Sr. Manager, Talent
