I applied through an employee referral I interviewed at Indeed (United States)

    Interview

I went through a whopping five rounds of interviews over the course of two months before being ghosted. This is despite having an internal referral.

Throughout the process there were many technical hiccups: my interviewers were not familiar with their conferencing software and in my initial phone screening, my interviewer had to be reminded which position I was applying for.

When asked for my desired salary, I stated a very average rate for my city that was not even the maximum of the range for the role posted by Indeed. Despite this, the interviewer hinted that my desired salary was too high.

Three things I would improve about the process: make sure the recruiters are following up on candidates (ESPECIALLY ones that have been through 4+ hours of interviewing!), train interviewers on internal tools before the interviews so they're not left to figure out the software mid-interview, shorten the process (no one in today's market has time for a multi-month 5 round process for a job that is offering less than the market rate), and do not post inflated salary ranges for jobs that show higher amounts than what the hiring manager is willing to accept from a candidate.

I know Indeed employees are truly passionate about helping people find jobs and are always looking for ways to improve, so I hope this feedback is constructive and helpful.
