      Marketing Intern Interview

      Feb 17, 2013
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience

      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Glassdoor

      Interview

I applied online for the Marketing Intern position for the summer of 2012, and was asked to list a time that would be convenient for a phone interview. When the day and time came, I answered the phone and the interviewer informed me that there was a group of people that would be listening in on our phone interview. I took this in stride, as I am used to having people listen in on conversations during my other internships. There was a pause, and he laughed saying that there was actually no one else listening. Thus began the worst phone interview experience I've ever had. He grilled me on the number of people that live in the world, USA, California, and California, and laughed when I was off. By the time he asked me if I liked sports, and then drilled me on specifics of the team, I had already decided that this company culture was not something I wanted to be a part of regardless of whether or not I was accepted to the position.

      Interview

They were very generous and kind. Simple questions, didn’t get very technical. Gained a background knowledge of the company and what they are trying to accomplish. Straight forward, not stressed.
