      Customer Success Manager Interview

      Feb 27, 2018
      Anonymous employee
      Chicago, IL
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Glassdoor (Chicago, IL) in Feb 2018

      Interview

Overall, the interview process went quite fast. It began when I submitted an application. I heard back in one day and had an HR screening interview over the phone one day after that. I then scheduled an interview the next day with the hiring manager via telephone. That same day I heard back that they wanted to schedule my in-person interview. We decided to meet the following week. The in-person interview included a quick tour around the office, a half hour mock presentation, and three separate half hour interview sessions. For the mock presentation I was given a prompt to introduce a new client to Glassdoor. The prompt gave basic requirements and general direction on what the audience will be critiquing you on, but for the most part I was given free reign to talk about what I thought was appropriate. I was given some helpful resources to learn about the company and the value Glassdoor provides to their clients. This is a great opportunity to show off your presentation skills and how you interact with clients. The three remaining interviews were with various managers and employees at Glassdoor. Many of the questions asked were reviewing your experience and discussing situations in which you applied certain skills. I thought all questions were very appropriate and not "tricky" at all. The entire time spent at the office interviewing was two hours. The day after the in-person interview I was told that they wanted to schedule a video-interview with a manager in California. This was promptly set up and I had a 45 minute interview with this manager within 2 days. One week after this I was given an offer. Overall, the process was fast and painless. Every person I spoke to at Glassdoor was very friendly and professional. You can definitely tell that people who work here truly love their jobs.

      Customer Success Manager Interview

      May 7, 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Dublin, Dublin
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Glassdoor (Dublin, Dublin) in Apr 2025

      Interview

I applied for this role and completed two interviews with the hiring manager after being contacted by Lincoln, the recruitment agency. I was asked to prepare detailed topics and a full presentation, investing significant time and effort. After the final interview, there was complete silence for four weeks. My follow-up email to the hiring manager was ignored, and only after further chasing the agency did I receive a short email stating they had decided to hire internally. No phone call, no proper feedback — just an impersonal, dismissive message. This experience was not only unprofessional but completely at odds with the values Glassdoor promotes, such as authenticity, transparency, and respect for candidates. If you value your time and expect a professional, respectful process, I would advise proceeding with caution

Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re sorry to hear how the process was handled. When working with external agencies, we don’t always have control over how updates are shared—but internally, it’s our standard to notify every candidate of final decisions in a timely and respectful way. We regret that this wasn’t your experience and appreciate your feedback as we work to ensure all partners reflect the values we stand for. - Cortney Holt, Sr. Manager, Talent

      Customer Success Manager Interview

      Feb 18, 2025
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Glassdoor in Jan 2025

      Interview

This was the best interview process I've ever been through, especially because of the amazing candidate portal -- it not only contained clear and detailed descriptions of each step (topics to be covered, how to prepare, etc.), but also all the info I needed for it (who was on the call, Zoom links, etc.). Each discussion was pertinent to ensuring that not only would I be a great fit for the role, but that the role and organisation would also be a great fit for me. I also never once felt like I was going into any of the discussions unprepared because of the pre-interview information provided to me; in fact I felt like I was being set up for success. Everyone who took the time to meet with me was so friendly and passionate, and they each provided great insight and answered any questions I had. I am so glad to now be part of the team!

      Customer Success Manager Interview

      Jul 22, 2024
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Glassdoor in Jul 2024

      Interview

It started with the recruiter screen, then meetings with the hiring manager, a potential colleague, then finally a panel interview with a presentation about why you are the best fit for the role, and how you use data in value building with a client. Everyone was great throughout this process, especially Britney (Recruiter) and Nik (Hiring Manager). It was a transparent process and it seems like an amazing team to work for. My only issue was that there were 7 finalists, several being internal. I feel that a presentation is a major time investment, and it would be more reasonable to ask for that if there were 5 or less candidates who were at the final stage.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Be prepared with specifics on strategy on management of your book of business, how you manage time and varying priorities, and specifics on customer storytelling and value building.

I specifically appreciate your feedback about the presentation. We understand it's a time investment on your end and it's critical you feel your time is valued. While we can't guarantee a specific number of finalists for an interview process, please know your time and effort are incredibly valued by our team. We appreciate you interviewing with us and wish you the best of luck in your job search! - Cortney Holt, Sr. Talent Manager
