I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at General Mills
Interview
Initial phone interview followed by invite into HQ for lengthy day of meetings with 5-7 professionals. Prior to in person interview, asked to complete online assessments including 2 values/personality tests and 1 deductive reasoning test. Personality tests were easy...deductive test was HARD and timed!
During my day at HQ, i was asked a ton of behavioral questions and asked to review a case study and craft an integrated marketing program that I later had to present to team member. I also had a chance to have lunch with team member and ask off-the-record questions and get a better glimpse into the culture etc.
Overall, it was an extremely professional and well planned out day. Each person I met with was extremely helpful, smart and nice...you could tell they love working for General Mills. Prior to my interview, I had never experienced such a long day for a job opportunity however after completing this, I am a huge fan!
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at General Mills (Minneapolis, MN)
Interview
Overall, the interview process, although very thorough and situational question-heavy, went really smoothly. Everything was communicated very clearly so I knew exactly what to expect. I applied online and got a call about 2 weeks later to set up a phone interview. After the phone interview, a few days later I was contacted to schedule an in-person interview. Scheduling this took about 2 weeks. I met with 2 HR specialists, and 3 people from the direct team. Each interview had situational questions, but also was casual enough to develop into a conversation. One of the interviews was over coffee at Caribou inside the building. They also walked me around the different buildings, so it was nice to see all that GM has to offer. Overall I couldn't ask for a better interviewing process.

Question 1
Describe a time where you were asked to do something out of your normal job description, and how you handled it.
I applied through university. I interviewed at General Mills
Interview
First step in the process is a phone screen interview with a recruiter. Then, if selected, a half day in-person interview at the main headquarters, in Minneapolis, including interviews with the team and human resources. They ask behavioral based interview questions, and ask about previous experience directly relating to the job description.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at General Mills (Golden Valley, MN) in Oct 2019
Interview
Applied online and got a call from an HR assistant a week later to set up a 1:1 call with the position's supervisor. After that call, I was invited to an in-person interview at the GM HQ in Golden Valley and given an online reasoning and personality test to complete. The in-person interview was very structured, but a good experience. Managers have a sheet of questions they walk through one-by-one taking notes — be sure to answer in the recommended "Situation/Task/Context/Action/Result" format or you may get asked to rephrase.
