One of the worst recruiting experiences I’ve ever had. I was contacted by a recruiter, Monica Snyder, who told me the hiring manager had viewed my LinkedIn profile and wanted to speak with me about an opportunity. I was genuinely excited about the role and spent time researching both the position and the company to prepare for the first-round interview.
However, my interview was canceled at the last minute because the hiring manager had already found another candidate. I was surprised and disappointed, especially since it was never communicated that candidates were already in the final stages of the process.
What made the experience even more frustrating was being told not to “waste everyone’s time because everyone is busy.” Respectfully, I also invested my own time preparing for the interview — and I wasn’t even the one who applied for the role in the first place.
Overall, the process felt unprofessional and inconsiderate of a candidate’s time and effort.
