I applied online and did a recruiter screen where I was asked standard questions about my background. I proceeded to the live coding interview, which I passed. I then had a 30 minute interview with the CTO. Unfortunately, I think there was a miscommunication at this stage, as the conversation led me to believe I'd be proceeding to the final round and I was even told I would just need to submit availability. To my surprise, several days later I received an email stating the team would not be moving forward with my candidacy as they did not feel my skillset was the best fit at this time. Fair enough - I understand that they made the hiring decision they felt was most appropriate, but the turnabout felt abrupt, lacking in transparency, and I would've appreciated more actionable feedback.
