I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Factored (São Paulo, São Paulo) in Apr 2026
Interview
It was a more tough process I'd say, contemplating 4 mains phases. First round was a conversation with HR (I had a great conversation in this step actually and really liked the interviewer) then other stages were all technical evaluation, ranging from online tests to design systems interview.
Despite being a challenging process it always felt proper and well executed. I was treated quite well in every step of the process.

Question 1
I probably can't reveal much of the process but I could say that you'll be asked to present yourself following a given structure which you should practice and customize to your style.
I applied for Factored’s GenAI Residency, and the overall process was quite fast — around one month from start to finish. The process included an online technical assessment, a behavioral interview, a coding interview, a system design interview, and a final interview with the potential client.
Even though there were several interview stages, the company provides preparation materials and is very flexible about scheduling. Candidates are given enough time to study and complete each step at their own pace. In my case, the process lasted about a month because I chose to spend some time preparing between interviews.
Overall, I had a very positive experience. Everyone I spoke with was friendly, professional, and clearly very capable. The conversations were engaging, and I came away with a strong impression of both the team and the company.
The only part I didn’t particularly like was the online assessment. Some of the questions felt disconnected from the skills actually required for a GenAI role, with a heavy focus on traditional machine learning topics and even questions that required calculating eigenvalues and eigenvectors by hand. That kind of screening doesn’t seem especially relevant in practice. On top of that, the time limit felt extremely restrictive, making the assessment more about speed than problem-solving ability.
