Interview
I applied to FIS online for the role of Senior Business Analyst and few days later I got a call from the Recruiter (Saroj Kumari) and she explained the job responsibilities in detail and gave an insight on the expectation of my roles and responsibilities to understand if I had the relevant experience to the position which was offered. Post our discussion, she said she will get in touch once my profile gets shortlisted.
After dew days, she called up to schedule interview with the onsite and offshore panel members and there were 4 rounds of discussion and based on which they confirmed the selection within a week.
I would like to mention that Saroj was an amazing talent SPOC and right from the day she called to explain the job responsibilities to this day(post DOJ) , she was constantly giving clear instructions and did a great job in making my on-boarding smooth and memorable. I would really like to appreciate the way she handled the entire process and a special mention for giving continuous updates keeping in mind how the current situation has affected a lot of us on our jobs and understanding the importance of giving timely updates and feedback.
I was quite impressed with the way the interview was conducted and was encouraging to see the panel members deeply passionate about their job. They gave good insights on the roles, responsibilities and expectations and interacting with them was quite enriching.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at FIS in Feb 2025

A BAIT AND SWITCH INTERVIEW
Was first contacted by an in-house FIS recruiter through Linkedin. Went through a screening interview then a video interview took place 5 weeks later due to one of the hiring managers being on vacation. In the video interview I was interviewed by the hiring manager and a senior manager.
The 'bait and switch' happened when I found out in the interview that the position I was interviewing for was NOT the one in the job listing nor what the FIS recruiter sent my way. Now only was this a waste of my interview prep time because I had the incorrect job description, but very disrespectful to me as an interviewee, and a waste of time for the managers.
I definitely had the skills to the job from the 'correct' description, but it became very evident during the interview that my skill set was way above what was required for the job.
I would highly suggest the FIS recruiter (or whoever writes the job descriptions) make sure they are CORRECT. It would save the interviewer(s) and the interviewee a lot of wasted time and effort.
