The process took 1 week. I interviewed at ExxonMobil (Baytown, TX) in Sep 2008
Interview
I was hired from an on-campus job fair. The interview included a lot of hypothetical "what would you do" type questions. I was given a brief overview of the company and asked whether or not I would rather work in Upstream or Downstream. Even though I said I would rather work in Upstream they were clearly only recruiting for Downstream. If you are looking for a specific position you should VERY EXPLICITLY state it.

A sit down talk with a few technical leads, something like a panel interview, but less formal.

One first round interview in person through the university. The interviewer then told me that if I had a successful first round interview I would have a phone screening as a second round interview.
