      Machine Learning Engineer Interview

      Sep 21, 2023
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Bengaluru
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

      I interviewed at ExaWizards (Bengaluru)

      Interview

The interview happened in 2 rounds -- technical and HR. The technical interview was quite fun, with the interviewer engaging well with the resume and asking questions based on my domain, and suggesting me areas for further exploration too. The HR interview was decent too wwith assessment being done based on personality and domain knowledge

      Interview

The entire process was conducted fully remotely, which was very nice for me because I lived somewhere very far away from Tokyo. There was an easy online coding test followed by one interview by MLE, one by their eng manager, and another one by an HR hiring manager & CEO.

      Anonymous interview candidate
      Tokyo
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at ExaWizards (Tokyo) in Jan 2020

      Interview

There were total 5 interviews, all of them were just formality, they only asked about my past projects from the CV. I was starting to like the company culture and team members who interviewed me. Later they sent a list of questions, which made me realize they are serious about making an offer. However, just like typical Japanese company, they made an offer which was lower than my current and had no room for negotiation or bonus and any added benefits. To that point, I tried to counter based on my other offers and they replied with some issue with cultural fit nonsense as the main reason for not making a better offer. In short, i found them utterly ridiculous, backward and discriminatory based on one’s culture (if you are gaijin or if you could not speak Japanese) I’m glad I declined their offer, its a horrible place to work, where they openly encourage and practice discrimination based on someone’s race
