      Financial Advisor Interview

      Feb 20, 2016
      Anonymous employee
      Houston, TX
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through other source. The process took 7 weeks. I interviewed at Edward Jones (Houston, TX) in Dec 2015

      Interview

The interview process takes about 6-8 weeks with mine falling right at seven. Overall the experience was great as I had several other advisors in the area talk me through step by step. It also helped that I had specific examples of times I addressed the behavioral questions they asked. Most of the interview questions go something like "at Edward Jones we often deal with ______. Tell me about/describe a time you dealt with this and what the outcome was." Be prepared with specific examples involving how you influenced people for the better and ALWAYS give what the result was. The whole process consisted of a phone screening, an in-person interview with a senior financial advisor, creation of a business plan (how you plan to run your practice; get with another advisor for help with this), another phone interview with HR (behavioral questions), a "Day in the Life of an advisor" assessment, and then the discussion with HR on whether or not you want the job. The process is posted on their website and they stuck very closely to what is listed. Great experience with the interview process, looking forward to starting the Series 7 and Series 66 exams study program!

      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Edward Jones

      Interview

Interview process first consists of numerous dinner events, all very laid back where you get to learn more about the company and the advisors in the region, and they get to learn more about you. If you keep getting invited back to dinners, consider it progress in the interview process. Honestly, the best, most effective interview process.

      Financial Advisor Interview

      Feb 11, 2026
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Vancouver, WA
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Edward Jones (Vancouver, WA)

      Interview

it's a series of interviews with people in the office then a full-day of simulating the role of the advisor where you're receiving calls from clients and team mates as well as receiving emails. As a career-changer, this was the part of the interview phase where I realized Edward Jones wasn't the right start to my career as a financial advisor and ended up going somewhere that invested in my growth rather than a "sink or swim" type of place.

Interview process is very lengthy. 6 steps, very in depth. HR screening, in person interview, 1 year plan, day in the life role play (3 hours long) where you had to call actors who were playing clients and prospects
