I applied online. I interviewed at Digital Realty (Dallas, TX) in Jun 2026
Interview
I applied and got contacted the next day by a senior internal recruiter for an interview. The recruiter joined the meeting with camera strangely turned off and requested permission to record and transcribe the session (I guess for Ai skill matching). She asked questions about my experience and skills. Then mentioned that the next step would be a technical interview with the hiring manager who showed interest in my resume, and that her colleague will reach out to me soon to schedule the interview; I was asked about my availability.
I reached out to the recruiter for update via email but never got a response. Turned out I was ghosted.

I applied through other source. I interviewed at Digital Realty (New York, NY) in Jan 2026
Interview
I have never been through an interview process that felt like such a poor use of my time or one where there seemed to be so little regard for the overall candidate experience.
After multiple video interviews, including with members of the senior leadership team, I left with the impression that the role was not yet clearly defined and that there wasn’t a consistent understanding of the skills, experience, or profile they were looking for.
The hiring manager was new to the company and seemed genuinely kind, but my overall experience with the recruiting process was disappointing. After being told I was a finalist, there were long stretches with no communication regarding next steps despite my being responsive and actively navigating a time-sensitive job search. After I reached out to the hiring manager because I had not heard from the recruiter, I later received a super brief phone call informing me that I had not been selected.
Advice to Digital Realty: Candidates invest significant time preparing for interviews, and they deserve transparency, timely communication, and respect for their time. I would recommend ensuring roles are clearly defined before beginning an extensive interview process and providing candidates with consistent updates throughout the process, even if the final decision is ultimately not to move forward.
In my experience, it felt like the process was a “kick the tires” and “see what’s on the market” approach which I (and many others) find highly unprofessional and a waste of time.
