The interview itself was a good experience. The interviewer was friendly, clear, and walked me through the whole process in a very professional way. I left the call feeling positive about the role and confident that my experience was a strong match for what they were looking for.
Unfortunately, that good impression disappeared when I received their follow-up message. Instead of moving forward with the Brand Designer position I interviewed for, they told me they had chosen another candidate and offered to consider me for a different role — the Graphic and Presentation Designer position — with a rate of 8.52 USD per hour for a 40-hour work week.
This was very disappointing. For someone with 6 years of experience, that compensation is extremely low and not aligned with the expectations set during the interview or with the salary ranges shared by other candidates on Glassdoor. I currently earn the equivalent of around 600 USD per month working 20 hours per week in Argentina, and taking this offer would mean a much heavier workload, no paid time off, an inconvenient schedule for my timezone, no benefits, and potentially even earning less after payment platform fees.
The pleasant interview experience was overshadowed by the final offer, which felt like a significant downgrade and not reflective of the value of the work or the responsibilities described.
