      Application

I applied through university. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Dell Technologies (Santa Clarita, CA) in Apr 2016

      Interview

The first stage was a virtual interview. This was to shortlist candidates that would be granted possible interview at an upcoming Convention (Career fair). It was for about 15 minutes long and 5 basic questions were asked - describe your biggest technical achievement, why did you choose your major, describe how you solve problem without any decisive instructions from your supervisor, describe your career aspiration and so on. It was pretty easy and I proceeded to the next stage. This second stage held at the Convention was in-person with one representative from the Networking team I would be working with. The job required networking, scripting, linux, and a bit of web design skills. The interviewer asked questions in no particular pattern, just to gauge my overall skills and how I fit for the job. I enjoyed the conversation and I was at my best. I even mentioned some new concepts in IPv6 which He did not know much about and that wowed him. I was confident I would proceed to the next stage. I got an email from the recruiter to set up a 30-minute interview with a Senior Network Engineer. This time the interviewer was more technical and He asked tons of networking concepts - Routing&Switching ,some specific Cisco devices I have worked on, some programming/scripting experience and scenario questions. I did great and I thought that would be the final stage. The recruiter contacted me the following day and the first statement was " Good news!..." I was filled with joy thinking I already got an offer but when I read through, I realized the good news was proceeding to another stage of interview with another Engineer in the team. I ended up having about 3 more 30-minute interviews scheduled at an interval of 3-4 days, making a total of 6 STAGES. It was just over-killed. I was asked same questions again and again by different people. I was so anxious for a quick hiring decision as I was interviewing with other companies. I got an offer from another company during.this process and on the fateful day I accepted this offer, Dell came with their offer too. I had a tough decision to make to decline the offer because I already committed myself to the other company and thought would be unprofessional to back out. It was nice interviewing with Dell and thanks to the Networking Team for their time and most especially the Recruiter (wish I could mention your name here). She was just phenomenal throughout the process. I hope our paths cross in future.

      Interview

I had 2 technical interviews and 1 HR interview in my on-campus placements at college. First technical round had most of the questions on data structures and algorithms. Second technical round had questions from networks. HR interview was lengthy but interesting. I was asked how I would react in various situations and some typical HR questions.
