Got the interview through a friend of a friend - they like to hire that way, which is fine. First interview was brief, and with the person who would be my direct supervisor. They went over what was expected of the role, and general interview questions. All very normal. Second interview was with the CEO. He asked if I was ok with the office being run in a Judeo-Christian setting. This was his way of asking if I was a Christian, which of course is an illegal interview question. Not knowing how to react, I of course said yes. Beware - he runs the office in a way where he takes the Bible literally. That means female works are second to the males. You're a female with a good idea? Too bad! It would be one thing if he asked that, to show the office was run with good morals - but that's not the case.
I was offered the job the next day. I think a lot of it has to do if you are clean cut and look like a Protestant Christian, then you are perfect for them! Wasn't room to discuss or negotiate salary unfortunately. Hard to ask for raises in the future. Bonus at Christmas is a crisp $100 bill!
