      Senior Software Engineer Interview

      Jan 28, 2026
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Bengaluru
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Cyberhaven (Bengaluru) in Jan 2026

      Interview

A 6-7 stage interview process (which is the norm I guess these days), including a reference check with your past/current employers. 1. 30 Minutes of recruiter screen - A discussion on previous projects and other behavioural questions. 2. 30 Minutes Technical Phone Screen - LC Easy/Medium with incrementing difficulty. 3. 1 hour machine coding + HLD - A basic log parser was asked, and was later asked to scale it to a distributed service. 4. 1 hour of LLD - Creation of a prototypal Version Control was asked. Focus on clean class structures, writing test cases and covering for edge cases. 5. 30-45 minutes of Hiring Manager discussion - Technical deep dive on your projects if necessary, and any behavioural concerns the Hiring Manager might have 6. 30 Minutes of Leadership Round with Head of Talent Acquisition - Mostly to check your cultural fitment with the organisation. 7. Reference Check.

      Senior Software Engineer Interview

      Aug 9, 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Cyberhaven

      Interview

Extremely lengthy process with 6 or 7 meetings and then also a reference check. Nothing out of ordinary when it comes to contents: there are tech/experience related questions, some live coding, system design - all not too difficult. People I talked to were mostly really alright. I made it to one of the last stages, which was a 30 minute meeting with one of the founders. The guy turned out to be extremely arrogant, dismissive and clearly biased towards people from non-traditional backgrounds and chose to "grill" me about my life choices from 10 years ago. I got a rejection email shortly after without any feedback.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re genuinely sorry to hear that the process didn’t feel positive or fair to you. That’s never the experience we want candidates to have, and I truly appreciate you being honest about how it landed on your end. While some of the specifics like the number of interview steps and the timing around the final decision don’t fully align with our internal records, we also understand that what matters most is how the experience made you feel. It’s a reminder that even when processes are well-intentioned, how they come across can vary, and that perception shapes reality in powerful ways. It’s important to also share that the sentiments you described don’t reflect the broader feedback we’ve heard from others who’ve gone through similar stages, including conversations with our Founders. That said, every candidate’s voice matters, and your feedback is a helpful signal for us to reflect on how we can show up with more clarity, care, and consistency. We’re always working to evolve our hiring process so that it reflects the values we hold as a company, being inclusive, transparent, and respectful at every touchpoint. I’ve shared your note with the team internally so we can continue improving. Thanks again for the time and energy you invested in the process with us. We wish you all the best! Senior Software Engineer Interview

      Mar 10, 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Easy interview

      Application

      I interviewed at Cyberhaven

      Interview

The interview process started with a recruiter call followed by technical screen (30m), system design (1h), and hiring manager conversation (1h). I would suggest familiarizing yourself with the product before the system design interview. In a vacuum otherwise the question (or more specifically what to focus on) doesn't make a lot of sense.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Design a data system that collects traffic information from a mall for analytics.
