I had a very disappointing and frankly unethical experience with Crescent Systems during the interview process.
They requested a copy of a competing offer letter, which is already an unprofessional and invasive ask. I provided the letter with clearly blacked-out sections to protect private information. Despite that, they accessed the hidden content — including details I had intentionally redacted — and used that information in their compensation decisions. Initially, I was told there were “no black lines,” then later that the black lines had “shifted,” confirming the document had been tampered with.
When I later presented a reasonable and well-supported salary counteroffer, I received complete silence followed by a cold, one-line message withdrawing their offer. There was zero attempt to discuss or respond professionally.
This process showed a serious lack of integrity, transparency, and respect for candidate privacy. I would strongly advise others to proceed with caution if considering a role with this company.
