I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Ciena (New Delhi) in Sep 2024
Interview
There were three sections to the interview. The first round is an online Python test, which was MCQ-based. The second is a technical round, and the last one is a technical + HR kind of round. There will be a technical round that covers both Python and the fundamentals of optical communications. Python questions are mostly focused on file handling. They mostly want you to do some automation tasks in Python. Best of luck if you are applying any time. It was a good experience. I had not brushed up on my Python, so I could not clear the interviews, but it will be fairly easy.

Question 1
They asked about my course project I had done in my college. They also showed a text file whose format was kind of like json in hierarchy but with indentations instead of curly brackets.
A casual first screen with the Manager followed by a technical group interview with his team with technical questions. They were very nice and didn't ask questions too hard, but I was overprepared and forgot my basics

Interview
The interviewing team are very friendly and the atmosphere is very warm. very nice personalities. smart people and scientists. The company is fairly big and very successfull at what they do. What they mention either in the phone interview or the in-person interview in terms of the time it takes for making a decision was very accurate and I got their response almost on-time.
