I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Chipotle (Toronto, ON) in May 2015
Interview
You can apply online and you get a call the next day or in a few days to schedule an interview. They're always hiring.
Make sure you look presentable, doesn't have to be business. Do your research about the company. Know about food with integrity, 13 characteristics and Steve Ells.
First interview is a group interview (other candidates) with the Apprentice GM +/- Service Managers/Kitchen Mangers. Depends who's working that day.
Make sure you SMILE and have ENERGY. It's very important to them.
Full-time availability is a plus.
If you get the second interview, they will call you in a few days to schedule it, if not, you get a rejection email.
The second interview is with the General Manager of the store. Don't worry, they're all nice. It's part of their policy. The interview is just as easy as the first one.
Sometimes they call you for a 3rd interview to meet the crew. Personally, I was hired after the second interview.
If they call you to schedule an orientation for a few hours, it means you're hired.
Asked questions about what positions work best for you, why you want to work there, what makes you a good fit there, where you see yourself in 5 years. Very simple and open to answer any questions I had
I applied online. I interviewed at Chipotle (Los Angeles, CA) in May 2026
Interview
Very brief, was only asked a few questions. I felt a decision about not hiring me was made before the interviewer even sat down. I suspect the interviewer was not accustomed to interviewing and may actually only standing in for a manager that was not working that day
The interview process included an application, attending a brief in-person interview, answering questions about teamwork, availability, customer service, and attitude, and was sometimes followed by a same-day or quick hiring decision.
