Interview
First interview was with a newly hired West Coast Regional Director, during which typical interview questions were asked regarding my background and leadership abilities. Second interview was a phone interview with an East Coast Regional. This employee didn’t ask that many questions, and the call lasted 15 minutes due to the questions I asked about the company, it’s history, benefits, etc. I was then contacted by the West Coast Regional who said the role was changing, and would no longer be a Store Manager but a “lead sales” role. When I asked what was different about the role in terms of responsibilities, the Regional was unable to answer, other than it was the same with a different title. This seemed a little bit of a bait-and-switch in terms of what they listed online, but I liked the shoes and the company is growing exponentially, so I agreed to a third in person interview with the East Coast Regional. When I arrived at the store, I was told the third interview was just me spending some time in the store to get a “feel for it”. I was not asked any questions whatsoever in this meeting. The regional left me standing observing another associate fit shoes on a customer, and the associate did not close the sale. I was not asked to assist or help the customer. I asked to see the stockroom, and a few other questions about the company when I arrived, but was left standing off to the side while the regional watched the floor and observed the sales associate assist customers. This was far and away the strangest “interview” I have ever had. The regional asked several times if I had other questions about the company and told me what an “easy job” it is if I were to be selected. I was in the store for approximately 20-30 minutes. I asked several questions about inventory, manufacturing, and delivery times for product. The interview process with the West Coast Regional was professional and informative. The East Coast representative appeared unwelcoming and didn’t ask any questions about my experience in my third interview. It was odd at best! The overall process took 2-3 weeks. I received a rejection email after this very awkward third “interview”. I am rating this interview “no opinion” on Glassdoor because the first interview was handled professionally, the second phone interview was neutral, and the third interview was disorganized and strange.

They did not ask me any specific questions. They asked me about my past experience. It was very casual. I applied through a temp agency. Everyone in the process was a little confused and not very focused. When I arrived the first day they were not ready for me. I did not have a desk, a computer, or anything to work on. But they had a week to prepare for me to come in.

Typical interview questions were asked. The process was seamless until I was informed that the previous manager had made some negative relationships within the community and a few customers, this was not a negative in my opinion since my skill set was customer service V sales
