Interview
They start with an HR person on phone, then a second round on phone, then you take an assessment which does matter so take it seriously. Then you interview in person with branch manager and then market leader then offer extended. The questions are easy for a seasoned advisor and by are looking for someone who wants to take a practice and grow it into a heavily invested advice practice that is annuities via fees. This is classic advice business. The firm wants people who are relationship based advisors not transactional. Also Financial planning is big here so you'll want to touch on that and how you use it to maintain and grow AUM and to gain new clients.

Video-based interview with branch manager and assistant branch manager; One round overall, and then an offer was extended to another candidate; Expedited timeline from job posting to interview to offer (about two weeks total); Highly scripted, orderly feeling questions regarding understanding of VP-FC role and my strategies for achieving success in the role; Some scenario-based questions; Disappointed in the scope of the interview lacking much human element and/or technical probing; Limited communication during the process outside of scheduling the interview or the interview itself
I applied online. I interviewed at Charles Schwab (Chicago, IL) in Jun 2021
Interview
Zoom meeting with the branch manager & assistant branch manager to discuss the day-to-day activities, first year expectations, total comp. Come with as many detailed questions as possible. VP - FC roles are in my opinion very coveted roles and worth interviewing for.
