      Financial Service Representative (FSR) Interview

      Feb 23, 2024
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Austin, TX
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

The process took 7 weeks. I interviewed at Charles Schwab (Austin, TX) in Feb 2024

      Interview

      - First contacted/interviewed by Talent Acquisition which was a quite pleasant call and quite helpful for the second round interview. - I was sent forward to the second round interview, I was given a choice of a video call or in person and I chose in person at their Austin location. - second round interview was quite intense, they do request that your responses be in S.T.A.R format, 2 hiring managers asking close to 80 - 90 questions. - After a mentally exhausting 55 min interview, the 2 managers took me on a brief 15 min tour of the facilities and it was done. - Got the call from Talent Acquisition 2 days later with a JOB OFFER saying that I did very well in the interview and congratulations. I went ahead and accepted. I want to reiterate, I RECEIVED a job offer from Charles Schwab congratulating me on becoming a “Schwabbie” whatever that means - The very next week I did my drug screen as part of the onboarding process through Quest diagnostics, a criminal background/credit screening, and an appointment for fingerprinting through Fieldprint. - Got the call from Talent Acquisition after ALL that they rescinded my offer letter stating that my credit score did meet with their standards and that I have too much debt. Which is totally fine and understandable as it’s a financial company etc… but why wasn’t I screened prior to the 2nd round interview instead of after making me do a second interview, drug test, and fingerprinting which all had me taking time off from work on 3 separate occasions.
