I applied online. I interviewed at Center for Tech and Civic Life
Interview
I submitted the application and my materials, and they followed up a few weeks later asking for me to submit a work sample BEFORE an interview. They claimed this would help "reduce their bias" and "review more applicants". To ask folks to send work samples and materials ahead of even meeting the company, or offering a screening interview at minimum, proves they don't trust their own applicants. I withdrew my application and hope they change their practices in the future.

Question 1
Please provide a work sample. The strongest applicants have been invited to complete this exercise.
I interviewed at Center for Tech and Civic Life (Chicago, IL)
Interview
Clear and straightforward. The process was outlined at the beginning stages of the application process and via emails. The interviewers were very friendly and helpful. The interview questions themselves were clearly related to the job; even the personality questions made sense!
I interviewed at Center for Tech and Civic Life (Los Angeles, CA)
Interview
There was an assignment and interview process. The questions were reasonable and the interviewers were personable. But communication during the hiring process was poor. They did not provide a response on their decision until much later and did not answer any queries. Overall, the recruitment process was poor.
