      Customer Service Executive Interview

      Mar 30, 2015
      Anonymous employee
      London, England
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Booking.com (London, England) in Feb 2015

      Interview

Stage 1: Short phone screening just a few days after my application. At the same day I got an invitation to an assessment. Stage 2: The assessment took place about a week later. We were about 10 candidates. It started with a short presentation about the company and the position. Language tests followed (multiple choice questions in the language applying for and in English). After that each person had to go through a role play situation. You get a script, you receive a phone call and you try to come up with a solution to satisfy a customer that is complaining. Last stage of the assessment is an in person interview (not very long). The whole process takes approximately 3 hours. The environment is nice and friendly and you get the chance to get answers to all your questions. I got the impression that they care more about your personality than about what you have done before. So, be yourselves. Two days later I got an offer.

      Customer Service Executive Interview

      Mar 31, 2023
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Booking.com

      Interview

Disrespectful interview process. After passing the language test online, I was invited to an interview. When the time for the interview came, the first thing that the recruiter told me was that the position had already been filled and they wouldn't be conducting an interview, but they would take my details down for future opportunities. I had spent a great deal of time preparing for the interview and it wouldn't have been difficult for them to send an email or voicemail to let me know in advance that the position had already been filled. I found it extremely disrespectful. There is no need to be so blasé about how you treat people. I don't think they stopped for one minute to think about the time investment I had made for that interview. If that is how they treat interviewees then I would be very wary of how they treat their employees.

      Question 1

What experience I have, where I live etc - they told me it wasn't a real interview since they had already hired who they wanted.
