As soon as I applied I received a zoom interview invitation the same day. I had a telephone interview with the CEO that same week. The initial conversation went very well, and the CEO said that we could do another meeting with other stakeholders later in the week or at the beginning of the next week. He also said that we could get started on some paid training the following week after learning more about my skill sets. From there, I struggled to get the secondary meeting set up through his HR person. After a few emails, I finally got the follow up meeting scheduled. On the day of the follow up meeting, I prepared and sat in front of my laptop waiting for the zoom meeting to commence. One minute before the meeting was scheduled to start, a person I had never made contact with called me on my cell to say they were running behind on meetings. From there, she awkwardly chatted with me about the position for about 3-5 minutes. She then hurriedly said they would follow up and ended the call. I returned to my office and sent the proposed original attendees a message saying I really had looked forward to the meeting and hoped we could reconnect soon. A couple of days later I followed up to see if the position had been filled. I never heard back from anyone at Bodyworks. I think it is fine in today’s world to decide you are going to move a different direction. But, what is not acceptable is to A) over promise by saying the person can start paid taking the next week, B) dodge out of a group meeting one minute prior to the start time and C) never respond to any emails directed to an actual person, not a general info or HR mail box.
