      Full Stack Developer Interview

      Sep 4, 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Bit Complete in Mar 2025

      Interview

I was interviewed by someone from their HR team, responsible for recruiting for this role. I spent an entire hour with this person (which is unusually long for a screening), and at the end they asked me to send my updated resume. After that, I never heard back. So candidates, be careful — this company seems to specialize in ghosting.

      Question 1

They asked me to talk in detail about myself, my previous experiences, and to describe both my past and current roles.

Hi there, Thank you for sharing your experience, and I want to sincerely apologize for how things unfolded. You gave us your time and effort, and you should have received clear communication after your interview. At the time, our recruiting team consisted of just one person, and some candidate communications fell through the cracks. This is not the experience we want for anyone engaging with our team, and I am sorry you were affected by that. Since then, we have made changes to ensure candidates receive timely updates and a more consistent experience throughout the process. Your feedback is a valuable reminder of why that work matters. Thank you for bringing it to our attention.

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Bit Complete in Aug 2025

      Interview

Was reached out to on Linkedin by engineering manager. Process took about 3 weeks total with 5 rounds. Intro call with EM, basic coding question, frontend problem, backend problem, tell offer call with co-founders. Everyone I met during the process were super professional and friendly. Interviewers during technical rounds were collaborative and it felt like a pair programming session. None of the questions were leetcode style and felt very realistic to what you actually do as a developer day-to-day. So long as you're coding regularily and are able to communicate as you code, interviews aren't too difficult.

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Bit Complete

      Interview

Referred to the company through a current employee and was reached out to by their head recruiter. Initial screening call broke down the role well and explained that during the interview there would be a sort of matching process that would look to align my capabilities with one of their current team/projects. Technical screening and both technical interviews went well where all questions were answered and according to the recruiter I "passed" all rounds. However, this is basically where the application process came to a halt. I was told that they hoped to have an immediate opportunity available to bring me on board but haven't yet identified a specific project to put me on. This was a bit of a contrast from the initial screening where I was told that a matching process would be made with current opportunities in the workplace. Regardless, I was told when an opportunity becomes available soon they will reach out again. Fast forward to now, it's been two months and the company has effectively ghosted me despite my successful completion of the entire application process. It seems as though they prefer to build a backlog of applicants rather than hire to fit current needs. The lack of communication and abandonment of applicants is not reflective of a company that values its applicants' time and extremely disappointing.

Hi there, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience, and I want to sincerely apologize for how our process left you feeling. You invested your time and effort with us, and we fell short in keeping you updated after you successfully completed the interviews. That’s not the experience we want for anyone who engages with our team. As a consulting company, our hiring needs sometimes shift quickly based on client demand, and earlier this year, we began interviewing in advance so we could move faster when new opportunities arise. In your case, we didn’t communicate those timelines clearly enough, and for that, I’m truly sorry. We’ve taken your feedback to heart and have since made changes to be more transparent from the very start about when roles are actively open and when we’re building a pipeline. We appreciate the time you spent with us and wish we had done a better job staying connected after the process wrapped up.
