I found the job on a group digest and was able to submit directly to the hiring manager. I received an email the next day to set up a phone interview, which I set up for the next day. The manager was unprepared for the interview, did not have the job description and possibly not my resume either. At the end of the interview, the hiring manager did explain that there were two internal candidates. Did not hear when position was filled, but I was able to follow-up and was told it was filled internally.
