Overall, it was great.
I was hired in by a manager I worked with in a previous company so my experience is not the typical. So for me, networking paid off!
Most companies of this size perform drug tests and such so I expected that. BMC is very process oriented. The people here are more "IBM" than let's say "Zynga" from a culture standpoint. The Lexington office is a little dated so the "curb appeal" won't sell you on the job. IT locked down and a little "dated" in their thinking. They block applications like Dropbox, Sharefile, YouSendIt and other SaaS apps. Their VPN is dated but recently started to support the iPhone. One thing I will say is the work/life balance is good. BMC promotes working from home so that eases the pain of a longer commute. Again... this will depend on your boss.
