I interviewed at Axelerant (Bangalore Rural)

      Interview

It was a great experience meeting the team at Axelerant a year ago. They were professional and very friendly. Especially the manager was so kind during the entire conversation. It’s great to have such leaders in people operation departments.

      People Operations Interview

      Aug 17, 2020
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Axelerant

      Interview

The first step was to apply at the company's portal. Upon completion, you receive an email describing the follow-ups steps which is set of 4 questionnaires that you receive over span of 2-3 weeks. It takes time to answer these questions diligently. The questions are such that normally you get asked in a personal interview. So far so good. It was impressive to see that everything was happening online over emails. But no human contact over 2 weeks. Then the final email came to set up the interview. The earliest available date was almost 15 days later. I still saw this as positive as it gave me ample time to prepare. But 2 days before the interview, I receive an email that its been cancelled and that the next steps will be let known over few days. This was highly disappointing and more so as there was no person to actually reach out to over call and understand the situation. I followed up again after a week and got same response. The interview was shelved. It would have been much appropriate to have the interview and then give resining about rejection but this was it just felt a lot of my efforts went into vain. Few weeks down the line, the same position was re-opened. This time, it was a straight rejection. This has left me more confused about what they are looking for in a candidate. Its good to have virtual connection especially in these times, but at some point there should be an HR connect.

Whew, I feel the frustration here, and I appreciate your letting us know about it. During summer 2020, I found myself overwhelmed at times, and yes, my interview calendar was often more than two weeks out while trying to get 2,000 active candidates down to something more manageable. I agree with you that more personal touch would be preferable. I hope you've found a happy place to be for your career.
