      Sales Interview

      Dec 19, 2010
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Dallas, TX
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Avaya (Dallas, TX) in Nov 2010

      Interview

I am still in the interview process, but I am getting a bad feeling about Avaya after my experience and reading GD. I was asked to interview on weekend. That's my personal time. I said ok because I think I may like to work for Avaya. Now I am getting follow up calls on Sunday, that's really my personal time. The phone interview was very casual, asking me about myself and my previous experience in telecom. Lasted just over a hour. I have some follow up interviews scheduled and a drug test. On one hand it can be seen as they are very busy and need to hire, good, but I don't want to be a 24/7 employee. Hard work yes, indentured servant no.

      Interview

Good, to the point. Answered my questions. Responsive. Nothing to call out. It was video calls and phone calls. May have changed. Received the offer. Took longer than I would have liked though.

We need new blood and you fit the bill....essentially nothing challenging just needed a body. Told me endlessly about the importnace of Contact Centre and their heritage then moaned about the sales teams in place not being able to sell. Told me that everything was good and that the CxO level were fully engaged.
